Fibre Tech Ltd, characterised by its significant energy consumption, operates with a specialised production methodology that primarily utilises induction furnace processes. This advanced method, while efficient for the facility’s specific production needs, contributes to a high level of energy usage. One of the primary challenges we encountered was the need to comprehensively understand the facility’s ‘cost stack’ – the various components that contribute to the total cost of energy consumption.

During this site visit, Brian and Chris, key members of the Fibretech team, dedicated a considerable amount of time to showcasing their highly specialised product range and the unique manufacturing methodologies they employ. This in-depth demonstration of their processes was invaluable. It enabled the DBG team to directly engage with and thoroughly comprehend the various stages of production at Fibretech.
